We’ve been doing it for years!

We’ve been doing it for years!

by Jobby As you probably know, Silent Disco companies are cropping up left, right and centre. You only need to do a quick Google search to find an abundance of companies offering you wireless headphone entertainment, all of which seem to be the best in the business and all of which seem to offer you the best price.. Just to clarify, our company started in 2007 (our web address was registered in September 2007) – we have been around for more than 5 years. We have provided THOUSANDS of headphones to HUNDREDS of events. We are one of the best in the business, and definitely one of the most trustworthy. In our 5 year existence we have had less than 1% of unhappy customers. If you are looking for a Silent Disco company that has been around for a while, and know the business inside and out – give us a try. There are lots of other Silent Disco operators out there claiming to be “the first” company to offer this event type. There can only be one “first” company, and most that claim they are – simply aren’t. See for yourself – just go to www.whois.com and search the addresses of the website in question. We don’t claim that we were the first Silent Disco company ever – however, we were the first company to offer a dry hire service, where we simply send you equipment via courier and you sort your own music source out. We have our own style of coloured headphones that look and sound amazing, and have been used on TV shows such as Geordie Shore and Big Brother. (And soon to be on another HUGE ITV show – watch this space.) If you are still trying to make your mind up about which company to use, we come highly recommended – and our prices are STILL very competitive. Speak soon! Jobby @ Hedfone...

Our Silent Disco headphones enter the Big Brother house…

by Jobby For one strange reason or another, Big Brother has always fascinated me. From the very first series, when it was a ‘social experiment’, right through to when it became a show full of fame hungry wannabes (Series 3 onwards), it’s always a show that will get you thinking “how did they find these people?”. BB became stale on Channel 4, and I believe that Channel 5 have pumped some much-needed energy into the format, although “Autocue Brian” isn’t the best host for it. His presenting feels forced and unnatural. I am no stranger to appearing on Big Brother shows. As well as being in the audience several times for Big Brothers Little Brother when Dermot O’ Leary presented it, I took part in several of George Lambs shows too – competing in a series of challenges for the chance to become the ‘voice of Big Brother’, which I won – of course. That was an unforgettable experience, being able to talk to the housemates in the diary room and making announcements over the tannoy in the main house. An extremely poor quality clip is here: <iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/wO4UrZqo7iY” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe> Anyway, forgetting all that for a moment – and bringing things back to 2012. I had another run in with Big Brother. This time it was Channel 5 and this time they wanted something from me. Silent Disco headphones! I obviously couldn’t turn down another opportunity to demonstrate our headphones on the telly (already shown on MTV’s Geordie Shore). Now that Big Brother Series 13 has finished, all the housemates have instantly been forgotten – as well as our appearance. But to refresh your memory (if you were one of the 10 people that watched the show on Channel 5) – here are some screen grabs from the Big Brother Silent Disco:          If you are a producer of a TV show and would like to use our headphones, give me a call! The Czech Republic storm…

The Czech Republic storm…

by Jobby Converse asked us to provide Silent Disco headphones again for their tent at Rock for People festival in Czech Republic. We were there last year and it was great fun – so were pleased to be going again. I do love a good European road trip! I decided to take my car – mainly for luxurious reasons, and it can amply fit 400 headphones + me and 2 assistants. The road trip was pretty successful, although my drivers headlight bulb went out as we entered France – and as I have a Citroen C5, it is very complicated to change myself – so a stop off at the garage was needed (where it took two highly trained proffessionals 30 minutes to change the bulb). A lot of the driving was through the day, so probably could have got away with a dodgy lightbulb – however, in the Czech Republic you need to have your headlights on at all times; just incase they don’t see you coming. We were scheduled to operate the Silent Disco tent on three nights, however, due to extreme bad weather we only managed to operate on the first night. A tornado ripped through the festival on the second night, wrecking our tent along with many others. The festival closed for a few hours, and was majorly flooded, but unlike a certain festival in the UK – they reopened within hours and reshuffled the acts around (as the main stage was ruined, they had to put large acts in a smaller tent – which was interesting.) Several videos of the bad weather can be found on youtube, I uploaded this one: <iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/VSAN6bACOvI” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe> Although the Silent Disco was only on for one night instead of three, the first night was a huge success and all the headphones were out and about within minutes!! Check out the photos, here: See you in 2013, Rock for People! Jobby @ Hedfone...
